The Energy Saving Trust is a non-profit organisation that provides free and impartial advice on how energy conservation. The website has sections on climate change, energy saving products, tips for energy saving and information on renewable energy. It also has a very useful section where you can enter your post code and get details of energy saving grants in your area. If you are interested in saving money and reducing your carbon footprint then this website has it all! Alternatively you can call 0800 512 012 and your call will be directed to one of their local offices.

If you enter in your post code you will be provided with a map of you local area. If you select the ‘House prices’ button on the left hand side of the page then the details of recent price sales will appear on the map. A fantastically useful resource and best of all, it’s free!

The Environment Agency

As part of the Home Information Pack vendors have to complete a ‘Property Information Questionnaire’. In that questionnaire you are asked if you have checked this website for an indication of the flood risk in your area. Over 5 million people in England and Wales live in properties that are at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea. This website warns people about flooding and build flood defences in their area.

This website gives you a free environmental, planning and neighbourhood summary based on your post code. It includes information on the risks of flooding, subsidence, radon, historical land use, planning applications, crime rates, schools performances, amenities and other useful information.

Council Tax Valuation List

As part of the Home Information Pack vendors have to complete a ‘Property Information Questionnaire’. In that questionnaire you are asked what council tax band your property is in. If you do not have a copy of your council tax bill to hand and you are not sure which council tax band you can use this website to find out. Simply type in your post code and it should be able to tell you the council tax banding of your property.
