How do I order my Home Information Pack?
We can arrange to carry out the energy inspection on your home at a time that suits you (including
weekends). All inspections must begin in daylight as we need to make a brief external inspection
and we require a photo of the exterior of the property for the front page of the pack. Photos of the
interior will also be taken, although these photos will not be used for marketing purposes and will
not appear in the pack. They are simply for evidence in case of adjudication by the accreditation
scheme. All information and photos obtained by us is protected in accordance with the Data
Protection Act. On the day of the inspection we will take payment for the HIP and issue you with a
letter to confirm your order. This letter can then be taken to your estate agents as proof that the
HIP is being compiled, allowing them to begin marketing straight away. It usually takes about an
hour to collect the information required to generate an Energy Performance Certificate, although
larger properties may take longer. All the rooms of the property will have to be inspected and we
require an adult presence in the home at all times. It is in your advantage to allow the energy
reporter as much access as possible to all roof and wall voids, as if they cannot be inspected the
reporter will have to default to the worst case scenario (in terms insulation). You can view the
progress of your pack online by entering your address details in the 'View my HIP' section of our
website. The majority of our packs are complete within one week of the energy inspection. Once
complete you will be posted a bound paper copy of your HIP and will be able to view it online for as
long as it's valid.
